As you may know we have a social media community at MyXavier.com similar to Twitter and Identi.ca. Unfortunately spam is a common thing in these kind of services, so we’ve been forced to setup a set of quality rules to fight spam.

The following will be counted as spam by @spam (our own spam searching bot):

    1. Pages just setup to promote products sold at Amazon
    2. Pages with just affiliate links and almost no content
    3. Pages setup just to trick people into buying/downloading software

These quality rules are setup to protect the quality of the status messages posted at MyXavier and they may change as other types of spam appears at MyXavier. If any of your posts are considered spam, @spam will send you a warning telling you how many percentages of your status update was considered spam. If you don’t increase the quality of your status messages you account may be closed by @spam.

To explain how @spam is working you could simply say it’s looking at the links included in your status updates and if the quality of the link doesn’t comply with the above defined rules you will get a warning. You will get a warning if @spam thinks your status update and link is considered to be more than 50% spam.
